'I used to think that when people fell in love, they just landed where they landed, and had no choice in the matter afterward. And maybe that's true of beginnings, but it's not true of this, now. I fell in love with him. But I don't just stay with him by default as if there's no one else avaliable to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me.'
A quick post about something I have recently finished up reading, and also went to see the film of the first book in the cinema straight after.. DIVERGENT. This trilogy is just, wow. I enjoyed the books so much I did not want to put them down, yet I didn't want to read them too quickly for the story to end.
I had heard a lot of hype about the film, but I always like to read a book first if a film has stemmed from one, so I decided to get through the books first and I did not regret it. If you love to read fiction-based books that hold just the right amount of excitement, evened out with some relatable characters and a love connection that just makes your heart melt, then this is a book for you! It is aimed at teenagers, but I really enjoyed the story and the world of Divergent, and I also loved the characters and the relationships between them.
I really enjoyed the film of the first book, which only came out in March 2014 I think, so still a long wait till the next film. The actor they cast to play the character of "Four", his name is Theo James, and let me tell you he is worth the cinema ticket alone!
Have you read these? What are your thoughts on all three of the books? I definitely enjoyed the first two more than the last book, the story seemed to drag in places, but I still enjoyed reading the whole trilogy. At the start of this post is one of my favourite quotes from the books, which I thought I would add in just so you can see how magical Roth's mind is. Veronica Roth please write more words!
