Current Brow Routine

Anyone with two eyebrows and the desire to maintain them, like I, will know that this is no easy task. You will find that you own ONE perfect eyebrow. Just one. So you'll do your routine and you'll say to the left brow "wow, you are one perfect strip of hair, I like you.", THEN you move on to the other, aka the "wildchild", this brow does not want to conform. It's like "I want to be wild and free and I can not be tamed!!". Many will say, "it's okay, eyebrows are meant to be sisters not twins"

I believe on most occasions mine aren't even related.

If you can relate to that, then you'll know exactly what I mean. To the point of this post, I have currently found a routine that I am comfortable and happy with and have been using for about two months now, so I thought I'd share with all my fellow brow strugglers.

You will need:

1. Elf, eyebrow kit. (There's no shade but I believe mines the lightest one)
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills, Dip Brow Pomade in Blonde
3. Lastly, two brushes I use, one is a Real Techniques fine liner brush and the other is just a pointed brush (that I think is meant as a lip brush, but I ain't no rule follower!)

The reason I'm loving the Elf kit at the moment is down to the wax (the darker side). I find it really helps to stick my hairs down in one direction and really holds the brow shape in place. Then I just use the blonde powder shade to fill in any sparse areas and the dipbrow pomade to really define the bottom outline and outer corner of the brow.

And I am loving the result. Leave a comment if you have used any of these products and what you think about them :)

Lipstick Review - Revlon Super Lustrous in 'Wild Orchid'

Okay, I'm abit late to the game on the Revlon lipsticks, I have tried the lip butter (I think that's what they're called) and I DO like those but not as much as they were raved about. However I have never tried the super lustrous lipstick range and I was browsing today, saw this colour and HAD to pick it up. The colour is 'Wild Orchid' and it is just an absolute beautiful colour in the bullet. Then I swatched it and I was sold.

The formula felt really nice and creamy, and the colour was really pigmented. It has a slight sheen to it so the colour doesn't go on exactly like what it looks like in the bullet. But I still liked the finish of it. It's such a beautiful bright colour without being difficult to pull off.

I just love it. And I'm defiantly going to have to try some of the other colours from this range. If anyone has any other colours they've tried and love then please let me know, I'd love to hear other peoples faves. THUMBS UP REVLON!

The perfect nude.

Nude lips... It's a trend that has been around forever! I look upon celebs such a Kim Kardashian with envy, because they have the one thing I wanted.... The perfect nude.
And today, ladies, I think I have finally found mine. What do you reckon?

If you're interested in the ingrediants for my perfect nude then.. hold on, I'm about to share...
First of all I wanted to add that we are all individually beautiful, with different skin tones, lip shapes, etc. So MY perfect nude may not be yours, and vice versa. But I hope you get some inspiration or help from these products.
So here it is..
As I have fuller bottom lips but thiner upper lips I like to use a lip liner, some people love them some people hate them, I used the L'oreal infaillible lip liner in the colour Always Toasted.
Next I applied a Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick in Tantalizing Taupe, the nude lipstick wasn't TOO light that it would wash me out and wasn't too dark that it would look like a brown lip, it was the goldilocks 'just right' colour for my skin tone.
Finally I finished off this look with a swipe of Rimmel's Stay Glossy lipgloss in Non-Stop Glamour. This lipgloss is quite sheer with flaks of gold running through it, so just adds a tiny bit of shimmer. Also it's not sticky so no awkward hair sticking to your lip situation going on up in here!!!

I swatched the 3 products on my hand for you to see better the colours, from top to bottom is the Tantalizing Taupe lipstick, Always Toasted lipliner and Non-Stop Glamour gloss.

Hope you found this post helpful! Even if these colours don't match your skintone then I'd still recommend these products but in your perfect shades!

Sundays.

I've got a few beauty related blog posts lined up but I just wanted to share a quick post of my day with the Blogging community. I usually work Sundays, but today I actually had the day off! So I ate like a queen, as you do here in England on a Sunday. It was my boyfriends mothers birthday today so we all went out for a lovely meal, and I just wanted to share the incredible chocolate brownie I had.. I'm still feeling the food hangover from it, but I regret nothing! Look how yummy it looks.. You're feeling hungry now right!

After the meal my boyfriend and I decided to cwtch up (extremely welsh term) and watch two very long, but very good films, the first was the second film in the Hunger Games trilogy; Catching Fire. I loved this, we just watched the first one a few days ago and I'm currently reading the final book, Mockingjay. But what was really surprising is that my boyfriend even enjoyed it, and he usually hasn't got the patience for films! So that's got to be a good sign! The next film we watched was 'The Wolf of Wall Street', I just want to say how much of a fantastic actor Leonardo Di Caprio is. He was brilliant. And there was some really laugh out loud moments, which kind of reminded me of The Hangover films, so if that's your kind of comedy then definitely check this one out, although it is quite a long film at 2hrs and 50mins so make sure you have the time to watch it all!

And to finish up, I just wanted to share a new obsession I've discovered over the weekend, it's the Rubicon Sparkling Mango soda. I don't know why I've never tried this before? But it's sooo yummy!!! ..And also full of sugar, Oops :(

Hope everyone's had a lovely bank holiday weekend!

Veronica Roth, I Praise You.

'I used to think that when people fell in love, they just landed where they landed, and had no choice in the matter afterward. And maybe that's true of beginnings, but it's not true of this, now. I fell in love with him. But I don't just stay with him by default as if there's no one else avaliable to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me.'

A quick post about something I have recently finished up reading, and also went to see the film of the first book in the cinema straight after.. DIVERGENT. This trilogy is just, wow. I enjoyed the books so much I did not want to put them down, yet I didn't want to read them too quickly for the story to end.
I had heard a lot of hype about the film, but I always like to read a book first if a film has stemmed from one, so I decided to get through the books first and I did not regret it. If you love to read fiction-based books that hold just the right amount of excitement, evened out with some relatable characters and a love connection that just makes your heart melt, then this is a book for you! It is aimed at teenagers, but I really enjoyed the story and the world of Divergent, and I also loved the characters and the relationships between them.
I really enjoyed the film of the first book, which only came out in March 2014 I think, so still a long wait till the next film. The actor they cast to play the character of "Four", his name is Theo James, and let me tell you he is worth the cinema ticket alone!

Have you read these? What are your thoughts on all three of the books? I definitely enjoyed the first two more than the last book, the story seemed to drag in places, but I still enjoyed reading the whole trilogy. At the start of this post is one of my favourite quotes from the books, which I thought I would add in just so you can see how magical Roth's mind is. Veronica Roth please write more words!

Chapter One.

So, (Oh, great way to start a blog Ciara, So.. SO LAME!), So...
I have no idea how you start an everyday blog post let alone your first ever blog in (hopefully) a long line of blog posts. One which you will no doubt look back on in years to come and be thinking did I REALLY write that, how lame was I, stop trying to be cool, etc.) BUT I figured atleast getting some words down would be a pretty decent start..
Why I really felt the urge to start this blog is because I have over the last year or so, developed an unhelthy obsession with building and growing a beautiful make-up collection. I've always enjoyed make-up since I started wearing it in high school, but now it's become more of a hobby, something I like to read up on, learn tips and tricks, see what new products out there are worth the hype, etc. I just do it because it's something that I enjoy. Getting a new NARS blusher in the post or swatching some lip colours in Boots, to me, is what I like to call.. Christmas. Haha.
Where my other interests lie outside of make-up, I also have a love for perfumes, candles, body scrubs and all those good smelling stuff. I like to read alot (hence the blog post title 'Chapter One', get it, get it.. see what I did there!?.. Not cool?), if I were to be stuck on a dessert island with just my Kindle Fire HD, I reckon I would do okay (until thirst and hunger kicked in). And once I get hooked on a TV series on netflix, I will be watching it till the end, and feeling an empty hole of void in my life once it's over.. until the next things I find to obsess over.

Overall, I would say I'm similar to a good 30% of the population out there.. So if you're one in that margin, please say Hi and suggest a TV series or book or beauty product I will probably want in my life :)

That's enough of an introduction for now, just to give an idea of what kinds of things I'm likely to blog about. I hope this wasn't a long-winded blog post (I'm really not all that familiar with the social blogging do's and don'ts)

Thanks for reading :)
